Sheridan College joined forces with Mohawk College over two years ago to develop the Aboriginal Initiative Center. The aim of the Center, located at the Trafalgar Campus, is to help Aboriginal students cope with the challenges of post-secondary study.
Striving to create a welcoming and inclusive community, the Aboriginal Initiative Center offers a variety of programs and services throughout the school year to First Nations, Metis, and Inuit students, staff and faculty, as well as the Sheridan community at large. The Center is also a hub for various social activities. I had the opportunity to attend their annual drum circle event.
